Unmarried Cousin with no siblings or children, nephews or nieces -parents, grandparents, uncles/aunts all deceased, has recently died intestate.4 Surviving first cousins seemingly qualify for a share of the estate; 2 other first cousins have died. Can the latter’s children be beneficiaries?

On a slightly different aspect of inheritance I wonder whether you could post an article which explains what can happen when someone inherits from an overseas estate? Is there anything we can or should do to mitigate tax risks associated?

This is a very good example to show what can happen and how expensive the process can be.

Those who have been through this awful process are the ones who really appreciate how important a Lasting Power of Attorney really is.
